October 13 at 9:27 AMYes! This is an idea I wasn't previously open to because I thought produce had to be "perfect" to be good to eat. I had a conversation with a community member who shared with me the idea that the idea of "perfect" food is not how things grow naturally. It's still taking some adjustment to getting used to buying things that...

October 13 at 9:22 AMI prefer buying produce from the farmers market! Not only do I know the produce is locally grown but I also have the opportunity to learn more about vegetables that are new to me. This weekend while I was at my city's farmers market I wanted to buy cauliflower. One of the farmers was selling what I thought was purple cauliflower which I enjoy,...

These purchases may seem inexpensive at the time, but they can add up. I could limit them by making a clear shopping list and sticking to it, setting a budget before I shop, and asking myself whether I really need...

October 2 at 11:57 AMI learned a lot from the sites and the video provided in the learn more. And I honestly didn't know the difference between the food labels, but now that I do I will rely much more on my nose and eyes to determine if an item is still safe to consume after its best by date which marks freshness

October 1 at 12:22 PMYes, there are days when I do not have a lot of time to make food. When those days come, it's good that I meal prepped because I am able to quickly grabbed a nutritious meal. The meal prep prevents me from ordering out or just eating snacks.
