Deciphering Date Labels
I will learn about food labels and not throw food out just based on the date on the package, but instead check the smell and color to see if it has gone bad.
Storage
Properly Store Berries
To keep berries fresh, place them on top of a paper towel in a sealed container to absorb excess moisture and reduce chances of molding. I will properly store 2 packs of berries.
Community

I will follow 1 bloggers and influencers to get continuous tips and reminders that I can add to my lifestyle to waste less food.
Cooking
Reimagine Leftovers
I will learn about how to repurpose my leftovers into new meals and then try it.

Skip the Cart
Bigger carts make us feel like we need to fill them! Use a hand basket to improve grocery store discipline and prevent over-purchasing.
Community
Host a Salvage Supperclub
I will host a dinner party made from ingredients that would've otherwise been thrown away and have conversations with my 3 guests around food waste.
Storage
Make Smoothies
I will freeze fruits and veggies, such as overripe bananas or avocados, to use later in smoothies.

REFLECTION QUESTIONStorageDid you know that not all food labeling means the same thing? How have you changed your habits to decide if food is still safe to eat?
Carly Setter 10/02/2026 11:57 AMI learned a lot from the sites and the video provided in the learn more. And I honestly didn't know the difference between the food labels, but now that I do I will rely much more on my nose and eyes to determine if an item is still safe to consume after its best by date which marks freshness
