Host a Salvage Supperclub
I will host a dinner party made from ingredients that would've otherwise been thrown away and have conversations with my 5 guests around food waste.
Planning
Track My Wasted Food
I will track the food that my household of 1 throws out so I can learn what we're wasting and why.
Planning
Keep a Food Inventory
I will take a fridge and pantry inventory to stay up to date with what I have at home before I go grocery shopping.
Shopping
Stick to Your Grocery List
I will only purchase the items on my grocery list and avoid impulse purchases.
Planning
Create a Household Favorites List
I will create a cookbook or recipe collection of go-to meals for my household to make meal planning easier.
Storage
Properly Store Veggie Snacks
I will put carrots and celery in jars filled with water to keep them fresh, crisp, and easy to grab for up to a week. I will properly store 1 veggie snacks.
Planning
Weekly Soup Rotation with Friends
Recruit a group of 3-4 friends who are willing to make a batch of soup every week with the intent of sharing with the group. Each friend will make a soup for the week and share with everyone involved. The following week, another person will make a different soup to share. This meal prep rotation will occur weekly to prevent anyone from getting bored of the same dish, while fairly distributing food prep labor. The rotation can occur for as long or as little as the group decides.
Cooking
Make Soup Broth
I will store vegetable scraps or bones in my freezer and use them to make veggie stock or bone broth. I will make 3 batches.
Shopping
Glean or Forage
I will learn about the foods that grow locally and try gleaning or foraging.
Cooking
Set a Timer
I will set a timer to keep me on track with kitchen tasks and cooking and baking times so that I don't ruin food.

Gabriela Cimadevilla 10/06/2026 9:41 AMThis was not on my actions list, but I brought home the Renaissance Festival turkey leg bone to make bone broth! Made some last night. This was only my second time making bone broth and I could have definitely used more bone to deepen the flavor. Otherwise, it worked!-
H McCrillis 10/07/2026 6:09 AMHuzzah! 🦃🍗. I guess the Festival is the second most popular time of the year to eat turkey legs around here.

Gabriela Cimadevilla 9/11/2026 1:15 PMHi everyone--our team is growing! I wanted to say thank you for joining and take a moment to introduce ourselves.
Ice breaker: Why did you join the challenge?
I'll go first... I wanted to challenge myself to make more creative, delicious meals while using less ingredients, and producing less food scraps. My goal is to use [almost] every part of the ingredient.
Bonus: Attach a picture that captures your kitchen personality!
